# Miji

> Miji is a dictionary that remembers for you. Look up a word, tap Remember, and Miji turns it into flashcards and brings it back — in notifications you answer from your lock screen — until you genuinely know it.

Miji is an iPhone app (iOS 26 or later). Built on spaced-repetition science, with reminders that help you keep practicing.

## Why Miji

- The cards make themselves. In Anki you author every card: you pick the word, write the front, write the back. In Miji the lookup IS the card — one tap on a definition you were already reading. That is the difference between a habit that costs you time every day and one that costs you nothing.
- A real dictionary is built in. 85,000 English words, 230,000 senses, 195,000 example sentences, with pronunciations — offline, on the device. Anki ships no dictionary; you bring your own material to it.
- You review from the lock screen. The notification IS the flashcard: tap Knew or Forgot and you are done. There is no app to open and no study session to sit down for, which is why the reviews actually happen.
- Nothing to set up. No account, no deck to choose or download, no sync to configure, no add-ons, no server. Install it and look up a word.
- The same scheduling science. Miji uses FSRS, the algorithm Anki uses. You give up nothing on how well the scheduling works.
- Built for the words you meet by accident. The ones you look up and forget five minutes later. That is a different problem from studying a deck you already assembled, and Miji is shaped for it end to end.
- Free during the TestFlight beta, no subscription, works fully offline, with no analytics or tracking.
